PDFTom joins Willcox Savage as a partner/member in the business litigation section in our Tysons office. Tom represents various clients in class action cases, business disputes, defective products, RICO actions, and complex mortgage fraud cases.
In the past, Tom has served as national coordinating counsel for a drug company in products liability litigation, successfully defending his client in a jury trial in Galveston, Texas, and prevailing in a summary judgment motion on Daubert grounds in Austin, Texas. His other representations have included issues involving media and internet companies, antitrust, qui tam, toxic tort environmental, sex and race discrimination, Americans with Disabilities, attorney ethics, and First Amendment disputes. Tom has regularly acted as local counsel in large litigations in the Eastern District of Virginia.
Tom has 30 years of experience in the Northern Virginia/D.C. market. Prior to joining Willcox Savage, Tom was a member with Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth in Arlington. Additionally, Tom served as Managing Partner of Urban & Falk, as well as spending several years at two Am Law 100 firms.
Tom clerked for Judge Carolyn D. King, former chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, as well as the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.
In addition to the above, Tom has maintained a substantial pro bono practice, representing preschool children with autism in Northern Virginia, pursuing a prisoners' rights case before the D.C. Court of Appeals, filing an opposition to a petition for certiorari in a highly publicized case for the Southern Poverty Law Center in the U.S. Supreme Court, and representing TransAfrica protestors in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

- Representing FCC license holders in trial, appellate cases and negotiations against T-Mobile in matter worth over $500 million.
- Formerly outside general counsel for prestigious equestrian magazine including handling disputes involving online Internet forum for magazine.
- Represented first amendment organizations and women’s rights organizations such as the National Organization for Women in amicus brief in Depp v. Heard appeal.
- Successfully defended former owners of television station against lawsuit brought by purchasers of station, defeating aggressive attempt by national cable network to avoid discovery and obtaining favorable settlement.
